1️⃣ Registration

✅ Register establishment under ESIC if coverage criteria met (≥10 employees, threshold wages ≤ ₹21,000 / ₹25,000 for PwDs).

✅ Obtain 17-digit Employer Code Number through the ESIC online portal.
2️⃣ Employee Particulars
-
✅ Register each eligible employee immediately on joining.

✅ Furnish employee particulars (name, family details, wages, etc.) within 10 days of joining through the ESIC portal.

✅ Generate ESI Insurance Number (IP Number) for each employee.
3️⃣ Contributions
-
✅ Deduct employee’s share (0.75% of wages) and add employer’s share (3.25% of wages).

✅ Deposit total contribution (4%) on or before 15th of the following month via ESIC portal.

✅ Pay interest @12% p.a. if delayed, and avoid penalty damages.
4️⃣ Records & Returns

✅ Maintain prescribed registers:

Attendance, wages, accident register, inspection book.

✅ File monthly contribution details online.

✅ Submit annual return of contributions if required.
5️⃣ Employee Benefits Facilitation

✅ Issue ESI Pehchan Card (ID card) to employees.
-
✅ Inform employees about their eligibility for medical, sickness, maternity, disablement, and dependent benefits.

✅ Report accidents/injuries promptly in the accident register and file required forms with ESIC.
6️⃣ Prohibited Actions (to avoid penalties)

❌ Do not delay furnishing employee details.

❌ Do not deduct employee’s share and fail to deposit with ESIC.

❌ Do not suppress wages/employee numbers to avoid coverage.

❌ Do not obstruct ESIC inspectors or provide false information.
